On 13 January 2023, the OPTOMICS Consortium, along with our Scientific Advisory Board and our Ethics Advisor met in person for the first time on the occasion of the project’s 2nd Consortium Meeting. The meeting, which was held at TranslaTUM in Munich, Germany, was attended by all consortium partners and featured presentations showing the achievements and next steps of the ongoing tasks in thre project. Much important discussion was had between the consortium members, and our external advisors provided important feedback for making critical decisions and planning the next steps to make the project successful.

In the two days prior to the Consortium Meeting, the two clinical teams also had the chance to meet in the Klinikum rechts der Isar, where they shared tips and tricks about the Raster-Scan Optoacoustic Mesoscopy (RSOM) research device that will be used as a key component of the OPTOMICS project.

For now, we return to our regularly scheduled virtual meetings, but we are looking forward to the next opportunity for an in person meeting!
